Watch the legends of the city come to life at Liberty Square, which is dotted with medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque buildings. Head to the top of the 63 m (207 ft) high tower of the Cathedral of St. Peter and Paul for a view of the historical area. At the old town hall entrance, look for the town's well-known emblems: the Brno Dragon--the stuffed body of a crocodile that terrorized the citizens in the past--and a wagon wheel. Consider a stop at the capuchin crypt, then switch gears by picking up some fresh fruit or flowers at the cabbage market. Throughout the center, you'll find cafes, restaurants, and shops. Liberty Square is a beautiful view of the city of Brno. It is the middle of the city and everywhere in the city can easily connect to this area on foot. There are carts with food, at least on the weekend, and street performers. For the curious American, there is a McDonald's that I will try and review in the future, but there are so many other enticing restaurants I want to go to and be repeat customers at within a short radius I have no idea when I'll go. If you are a tourist in Brno, this should be your first stop.
