Take a short breather from your tour of the city with a visit to Wallenstein garden, a sprawling Baroque park on the left bank of the Vltava River. The palace, constructed in the early decades of the 17th century, now houses the country's senate and offers only limited access to visitors. The garden is open to the public daily, so you can stroll along its neat pathways or feed the ducks at its picturesque pond. Be sure to visit the "sala terrena," a richly decorated garden pavilion overlooking a fountain and a row of bronze statues representing figures from Greek mythology. Beautiful quiet garden with a lovely pond feature. There are plenty of fish and ducks around. There is a greenhouse next to the pond with more tropical plants. There are two peacocks that roam freely in the garden, with one of them a rare albino peacock. The garden leads to the Waldstein Palace with benches dotted around the garden to relax in a quiet and pleasant environment. In one corner of the garden there is an artificial stalactite wall which also has an aviary next to it with exotic birds. There are plenty of statues around the garden depicting mythological characters.

Highly underrated and I think a must visit garden in Prague. I stumbled upon this garden by accident while taking a long morning walk through the city and I was so glad I did. It’s adjacent to Prague’s Senate, had school kids on a field trip when I was there, is extensive and varied and is free to enter! From one entrance, you’ll start at a large reflecting pool close to the metro / subway station. From another entrance, you begin in a formal garden organized in a more French style with statues, hedges and fountains. Peacocks roam wild and elaborate paintings decorate the underside of soaring colonnades. I could have stayed for half a day just to take photos of this garden! Allow yourself at minimum an hour if you enjoy gardens.
