Tomas Bata Memorial, Zlin

Must see place in Zlín! Beautiful memorial of Tomáš Bata made by artist/sculpter František Lydia Gahura in 1933. Enjoy a fabulous commented tour and you will learn a lot about Gahura, Tomáš Bata and life in the late 30's. Inside memorial you can find 1:1 model of the Juncker plane, the same model T.Bata died in.

I was planning to visit Tomáš Baťa Memorial since it fully opened for the general public in May this year. We went there this morning and despite the fact that we knew quite a lot about the building itself, its history and its unique character already, we were absolutely delighted to be there. It is something you have to feel and see for yourself. The monument is just great. The guide was also excellent, he gave us lots interesting info about Tomáš Baťa, the building itself, and F. L. Gahura, one of the two chief Baťa's architects (and the author of the Monument). The official tour time is 45 minutes, we spent there almost an hour. If you ever come to Zlín, this is something you should not miss. Not by any chance.
