There are not that many trees in Stanley,but this is a quiet area away from all the thousands of tourist that descend on on the island from the cruise ships and the grandchildren made there own...

This wood is not well publicised even in Stanley, but it is rather special. One tree has been planted for each serviceman killed in the conflict. Underneath each tree is a plaque commemorating the serviceman, often with extra tributes from friends or family. Somehow a tree is more evocative and personal than a gravestone.and it is difficult to stay dry eyed here for long.
