Originally opened in 1895, Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church today stands as a memorial to the destruction of World War II. This historic chapel was damaged--then almost completely eliminated--by bombings in 1943 and 1945. The remaining Romanesque architecture is in the steeple, which no longer has a pointed roof. The ground floor's memorial hall honors war victims. The people of Berlin preserved the ruins within the monument to represent the rebirth and resilience of postwar Berlin. • My favorite church in Berlin. The most delicious restaurants in Berlin, are all located near this church. This place has amazing view at night. Very clean, always nice music nearby. I would suggest this area for a night walks. At night, it's especially beautiful, with amazing sunsets, beautiful sky. A lot of nice shops located around. It's good for everything: -making photos -dining -walking -shopping -best Hotels in Berlin -chill One of my favorite places in Berlin
  • What a historic gem. A tip would be to spend some time reading up on the historic past this structure has. Realizing when you look up and down the street in the surrounding blocks there isn't anything else left that survived the great war. The area is populous and vibrant but those scars and scorch marks are rare remembrances of the real impact of the destruction.
