One of the last and most impressive buildings of the Roman Baroque epoch, Katholische Hofkirche can be seen from all over the city. Its sandstone edifice is covered with fine architectural details that make its exterior distinctive. The bulk of construction on the buildings wasn't completed by Germans, but by Italian builders, architects, and a sculptor. The interior white walls and gilded altar are majestic and echo the grandeur of the outside and the Baroque observance of elegance. Visit during a service to enjoy the chapel's acoustics. The sheer scale of this object - truly megalomaniacal. Worth it to merely walk in its shadow and feel the thrust of the walls pushing into the ground.

It is for sure one of the symbols of Dresden: nice cathedral, named Heilig-Dreifaltigkeitskirche, also known as Katholische Hofkirche. It was designed by Italian architect Gaetano Chiaveri. It is located on Schloßplatz in the Altstadt in the center of Dresden, Saxony, and is the cathedral of the Dresden-Meissen diocese. Originally a parish church, it was elevated to the status of cathedral of the Diocese of Dresden-Meissen in 1964. Since 1980 it has had the title Holy Trinity Cathedral.
