Marvel at refined Baroque facades and tour elegant period rooms at Schloss Veitshöchheim, a stately mansion on the right bank of the Main River. Completed in 1682, this summer palace of the prince-bishops of Wurzburg was enlarged in 1753 by the famous German military architect Balthasar Neumann. The elaborate interior with lacquered wooden floors will take you back to post-Napoleonic Europe. • A late Baroque style residence palace built for the Prince-Bishops of Würzburg. It is surrounded with the impressive rococo gardens designed with majestic hedge-lined path, pavilions and flower beds. The tall hedges along with the decorations are the specialty. Spring till late summer is the best time to visit, since you can admire all the greenery and the beauty this courtyard garden has to offer. There is a big pond filled with different fishes, which are relaxing to watch. It is easy to reach with the public transport from Würzburg city, there is a direct bus connection. It is a good experience and worth the time you will spend during your visit here.
  • Great little hidden treasure ..lovely gardens .Bring some snacks the ducks ,geese and some very large Carp fish will thank you for it ..This is the summer residence to the large Würzburg one.my only complaint here i was not able to go inside .first there is the standard same as Würzburg to store your items in the lockers before you proceed inside a fee in also required to tour the residence .But i was unable to do so ..was told by a very rude clerk that we would have to wait 45 minutes to next tour and only German was available which was not a problem .but was also asked rudely what was my purpose what did i want to see etc .He offered no explanation as to what we could see or what was offered and in the most condescending tone.he was very friendly when i entered and spoke German but when i was speaking my family in English than back to him attitude changed .It would be great have someone who might enjoy that job a bit more working with all types of people ,after all your in tourist spot .
