Museum of Legends and Traditions (Museo de Tradiciones y Leyendas), Leon

Me and my friend absolutely loved this museum, and what can say, what an experience. An unexpected gem that really brightened our day. There is so much to learn about all the quirky myths and legends of the area and the models and figurines are brilliant (somewhat a little scary haha). It's set in an old prison and you get to walk around the high perimeter like the guards once did. Wilbur who runs the museum is brilliant, friendly and so helpful. What a great and funny day out for such a small price of 50 Cordobas. Would happily return. See it for yourself and enjoy!

To say this museum changed our lives is an understatement. It was great from start to finish. The owner (Wilbur) is passionate, kind and welcoming - he was there to answer any questions and help throughout our entire experience, all of which came with a lovely smile. Each part of the museum is different, captivating and taught us an interesting part of Nicaragua’s culture. We smiled the whole time and for the rest of the day following this experience.
