Create an itinerary including Osun-Osogbo Sacred Grove
Inscribed on the World Heritage List, Osun-Osogbo Sacred Grove represents the ancient--yet dying--tradition of establishing a sacred forest outside a settlement. Join an organized tour and walk around the peaceful nature, where over 400 species thrive, including endemic and medicinal. By the river, you can see a large number of statues and small shrines dedicated to the fertility deity Osun, believed by the Yoruba people to live in the grove. The inclusion of old and new figures establishes a connection between past and present. The locals believe the trees to have magical healing powers, and many of them come in order to get well or improve their chances of conceiving. • The view is beautiful as well as the welcoming monkeys although the pay for the camera is a big turn off for me but it is a lovely place to visit.

  • It's an amazing groove. My family and I had a nice time touring the groove. It's a place worthy of visiting at least once in a lifetime. I'm still in awe of how everything fitted together perfectly well even till date. The combination of art and cultural heritage wowed me. Vivid graphical representation of the past and the belief system of the people is a thing of note for me. I'll like to visit the tourism centre again and again.
  • It's beautiful. Everything handcrafted & amazing attention to detail.
