Visit Wawel Royal Castle to see the home of Poland's kings for several centuries that now features one of the country's major art museums. Ransacked and vandalized numerous times, the castle was plagued with foreign invaders until the early decades of the 20th century. The art museum was established in 1930. Take the short walk from Krakow's Old Town, and you'll be rewarded with a vast collection of Italian Renaissance paintings, prints, tapestries, and sculptures. The museum is also a center for conservation of exotic works. Be sure to visit Europe's largest collection of Ottoman tents. To see everything in a single day, arrive as early as you can. • The view is fabulous. The parts you pay for are not terribly interesting. The Royal Gardens were a disappointment especially for a fee. We went in late May and very few flowering plants. I would skip this. The dragon lair is worth the admission. We went into the first floor of the Palace it was basically an art museum. Only one room was set up like a Palace room. The tapestry rooms were fascinating. We also paid to see Wawel lost and recovered. They were not that interesting. Although the lost Wawel let you walk through the old architecture. But I agree that one price for total access would be better. The ticket to the cathedral was worth it. The bell tower climb was very interesting. The crypt was amazing and the cathedral was beautiful.
  • The entrance itself gives you touristic, popular vibes. All the places are unique in their own way because of different historical backgrounds, and so is this place too. One thing we didn't like is the fact that we have to buy separate tickets for each place in the same compound. They can give an option to buy a combined ticket to visit all 6-7 places inside this compound.
