Haunting bullet holes on the walls of the main building of Belgian Peacekeepers Memorial bear witness to the beginning of the Rwandan genocide. Inside the building, see the exhibit about the genocide and the story behind the slaughter of the soldiers. The backyard contains a memorial site with ten black stone columns commemorating Belgian UN peacekeepers killed on site, while carvings on the columns represent their age. Although small in size, the memorial site creates a powerful and moving message about war atrocities. • The memorial shows the dark history of Rwanda and belgian soldiers that were killed here. Its very sad that it happened to the UN peace keepers and we should work on promoting love over hate

  • A piece of history. I've never experienced war in my life, but to see what has happened in Rwanda 🇷🇼 Never again! Peace and dialogue and respect for one another is always better . Nobody gets better with wars, it only produces set backs These officers that died in this were very young officers who were on peace keeping duties. These pillars represents each of the fallen soldiers
  • A space to reflect, learn and pray. The brutality meted out to the Belgian peacekeepers and former prime minister demonstrates how low we can sink as human beings. But contrast that with the restoration going on in the nation today, which is a tribute, at least, to what those who lost their lives were working for. May Rwanda continue to find it's humanity again and reach the Godly potential we all have.
