Founded in 1843, Stanley serves as the capital of the Falkland Islands yet still exudes its rural charm.
Step out of Stanley with an excursion to Bertha's Beach in Mount Pleasant--about 50 minutes away. There's still lots to do: tour the pleasant surroundings at Volunteer Point, appreciate the history behind 1982 Liberation Memorial, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Christ Church Cathedral, and take in the awesome beauty at Mount Longdon.
