Islamabad, Pakistan to Karbala is an approximately 47-hour car ride. Due to the time zone difference, you'll gain 2 hours traveling from Islamabad to Karbala. Expect a daytime high around 36°C in April, and nighttime lows around 19°C. On the 7th (Fri), you're off to Najaf.

Start off your visit on the 8th (Sat): explore the different monuments and memorials at Wadi Al-Salaam Cemetery and then don't miss a visit to Shrine Amir al-mo'menin Ali bin Abi Talib peace be upon him. On your second day here, make a trip to Maytham al-Tammar Shrine, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Al Sahlah Great Mosque, then make a trip to Great Mosque of Kufa, and finally get engrossed in the history at House of Imam Ali Ibn Abi Taleb.

You can drive from Karbala to Najaf in an hour. Alternatively, you can drive. April in Najaf sees daily highs of 37°C and lows of 20°C at night. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 9th (Sun) so you can go by car back home.
