Leon — 3 nights

A cultured and storied city, Leon attracts guests from all over the world, drawn to the second city's style, thriving intellectual life, and liveliness.
When in Leon, make a side trip to see Juan Venado Island Nature Reserve in Las Penitas, approximately Las Penitas away. There's lots more to do: get impressive views of Cerro Negro Volcano, see the interesting displays at Museo de la Revolucion, take in the architecture and atmosphere at Church The Recollection, and stop by Artesania de Leon.

Traveling by bus from Leon to Isla de Ometepe takes 4.5 hours. Alternatively, you can take a bus. Cap off your sightseeing on the 27th (Tue) early enough to travel to San Juan del Sur.

San Juan del Sur — 2 nights

Set in a crescent-shaped bay, San Juan del Sur has become known as a popular surfing spot and coastal holiday destination for Nicaraguan families and international visitors alike.
Kick off your visit on the 28th (Wed): whizz through the canopy at some of the top local zipline courses and adventure parks and then look for all kinds of wild species at La Flor Beach Natural Reserve. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 29th (Thu): kick back and relax at San Juan del Sur Beach, then don't miss a visit to Mirador del Cristo de la Misericordia, and then soothe aching muscles at Pranamaya Yoga & Thai Massage Studio Playa Maderas.
