Peshawar — 1 day

Peshawar is the capital of the Pakistani province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Start off your visit on the 3rd (Sat): get engrossed in the history at Peshawar Gandhara Museum and then get engrossed in the history at Sethi House Museum.

Karachi to Peshawar is an approximately 3.5-hour flight. You can also drive. Expect a daytime high around 40°C in September, and nighttime lows around 28°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 3rd (Sat) to allow enough time to drive to Islamabad.

The country's capital since 1963, Islamabad has the look and feel of a planned administrative city because, by and large, that's exactly what it is.
Satisfy your inner culture vulture at Pakistan Monument Museum and Lok Virsa Museum. Head to The Centaurus Mall and Safa Gold Mallfor plenty of shopping. Step out of Islamabad with an excursion to Taxila Museum in Taxila--about 56 minutes away. There's much more to do: take in the spiritual surroundings of Faisal Mosque, hunt for treasures at The Raja Bazaar, get great views at Daman-e-Koh, and stop by Saidpur Village.
