A cultured and storied city, Leon attracts guests from all over the world, drawn to the second city's style, thriving intellectual life, and liveliness.
You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Telica Volcano and Church The Recollection. Change things up with a short trip to Juan Venado Island Nature Reserve in Las Penitas (about 38 minutes away). The adventure continues: get impressive views of Cerro Negro Volcano, pause for some serene contemplation at Catedral de la Asunción, and see the interesting displays at Museo de Arte Fundacion Ortiz-Gurdian.

Cairo, Egypt to Leon is an approximately 26-hour combination of flight and car. You can also fly. Due to the time zone difference, you'll gain 8 hours traveling from Cairo to Leon. Isla de Ometepe may be small in size, but it boasts two large volcanoes that dominate its landscape and influence the local lifestyle.

Set in a crescent-shaped bay, San Juan del Sur has become known as a popular surfing spot and coastal holiday destination for Nicaraguan families and international visitors alike.
You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Boat Tours & Water Sports and The Art Warehouse. Step out of San Juan del Sur to go to Popoyo and see Popoyo Beach, which is approximately 1h 35 min away. There's still lots to do: enjoy the sand and surf at San Juan del Sur Beach, make a trip to Mirador del Cristo de la Misericordia, stroll through Playa Hermosa, and look for all kinds of wild species at La Flor Beach Natural Reserve.
