Islamabad — 59 nights

The country's capital since 1963, Islamabad has the look and feel of a planned administrative city because, by and large, that's exactly what it is.
Get out of town with these interesting Islamabad side-trips: Karakoram Highway (in Hassan Abdal), Rawalpindi (Ayub National Park, Nila Sand, &more) and Peshawar (Khyber Pass, Sethi House Museum, &more). Spend the 19th (Mon) wandering through the wild on Exploria. There's still lots to do: contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Faisal Mosque, contemplate the waterfront views at Rawal Lake, shop like a local with The Centaurus Mall, and appreciate the history behind Pakistan monument.

To find other places to visit, photos, traveler tips, and other tourist information, refer to the Islamabad day trip planning website.

If you are flying in from United States, the closest major aiports are Islamabad International Airport, Peshawar International Airport and Sialkot International Airport. In May, daily temperatures in Islamabad can reach 97°F, while at night they dip to 72°F.
