Create an itinerary including Broadway Tower
A genuine folly loaded with history, Broadway Tower was designed by architect James Wyatt in 1794. Follies were structures usually built for decorative rather than practical purposes, and this tower was no exception. Wyatt designed it for Lady Coventry, who wondered if a light on the second highest hill in the area, where beacons were customarily lit on special occasions, could be seen from her house in Worcester. The lady’s house was approximately 35 km (22 mi) away and, as it turned out, the beacon could be seen clearly. Today, the tower is an ideal lookout spot and the center of a country park with various exhibits open to the public. Visit the site on a sunny day, and don’t forget to bring your camera. • Lovely location great scenery and a great cafe and shop to have lunch and chat out doors on within. Service was gast and friendly and lots of parking space at a reasonable price as great for a stroll with kids who will love seeing the wild deer and running around the tower. There is a small charge to be on the tower grounds and a combined charge to go into tower and be on the grounds. Its a great place to have a picnic and watch the deer with kids or even adults. We had good weather and so you see along distance making the scenery great.
  • A truly lovely place to visit; peaceful and with stunning views, some great walks, and a couple of lovely cafes. The deer park is accessible and the deer were easy to spot. We stopped for cake and hot chocolate and found both to be delicious. The wood burning stove was a welcome addition after spending some time in the chilly morning taking in the magnificent views. Would highly recommend!
