Coniston Water in the English county of Cumbria is the third-largest lake in the Lake District by volume (after Windermere and Ullswater), and the fifth-largest by area. It is five miles long by half a mile wide (8 km by 800 m), has a maximum depth of 184 feet (56 m), and covers an area of 1.89 square miles (4.9 km2). A beautiful lake in the Lake District. I've visited many lakes but always come back to coniston. The weather can be alittle unpredictable if you visit out of the summer season. Coniston Village has a number of good pubs and the local area has many nice walks. Dogs are welcomed in most shops, pubs and restaurants. The lake its self can be swam in. Many visitors use Paddle boards, Kayaks and Boats. They can also be rented from the sports center next to the Bluebird Cafe.
