History and beauty combine at Worcester Cathedral, built over a period of over four centuries, starting in 1084. The cathedral represents every style of English architecture, from Norman to Perpendicular Gothic. Noted for its Norman crypt and unique chapter house, the cathedral also features unusual Transitional Gothic bays, fine woodwork, and an iconic central tower. The cathedral contains the tomb of King John who, before his death in 1216, specifically requested to be buried here, between the shrines of St. Wulstan and St. Oswald (which no longer exist). A magnificent building steeped in history. The organ is breathtaking as is the ceiling. King John's tomb is also on display. The guides are really helpful and informative.

Really good visit. 2 hours should do it. Free entry which in this day and age is great. Some great photo opportunities. We had lunch in the cafe, which has a lovely atmosphere enjoyed. Recommended
