  • Historic farm, settlement, nature trail, graveyard tells the story of the birth of Shakerism in the New World. Small museum, tours, walking, trails, and special events. Easy to get to, hard to forget.

  • Totally recommend visiting this preserved Shaker community. Special thanks to Lorraine who took us on a private tour and offered us a wonderful explanation of what life was like in the community all the way from the 1700's until when it finally closed, stopping by the meeting house, the herb garden, the barn and the lodging house (from the outside). Recommend going on a guided tour if available. The gift shop is lovely as well. We bought one of the little Shaker brooms of course. :) Last of all, there is an easy hike you can take around the pond and through the trees. Prepare for a visit of 2 to 3 hours to get everything out of it.
  • My girlfriend and I went to their semi-annual craft show. They had 75 vendors, all sorts of different kinds of nice things, all at pretty good prices. My girlfriend found a few nice things, and as for me, not so much??? We have a couple of crafty friends there, and if you like to talk, some vendors are quite friendly. We had to rush around the back area because we were talking so much!!! (It was a very nice day for it too.) You got to go and check it out!!! (And BTW...it would be nice if they had longer hours...for us "late risers" and "busy housekeepers"?Thanks!!!
