After our plans got cancelled due to weather we had a look to see what was in the area, finding this place we thought we’d give it a go. So glad it was raining that day!! What a great little place...

Good range of aircraft here, very informative displays. Very helpful volunteers and is some cases you are allowed to sit in the aircraft. B29 is a great exhibit.

My husband and I visited for the first time today. We live in Charlotte, NC and decided to visit the area. We are huge aviation lovers (especially my husband) and we had a FANTASTIC time! When we first entered, the lovely gift shop employee said that their volunteers are the stars of the show. She was not wrong. We befriended Craig, the docent. He took us under his wing and gave us a very extensive, personal and informative tour of the whole museum! He was so lovely and passionate about it all and added a personal touch to every piece. The museum already seemed great on its own but he enhanced the experience 200%. It’s obvious how much love, respect, pride and enthusiasm the staff and volunteers have for the museum and that energy radiates to the guests. Thank you for a great experience. We hope to come back soon! Side note: we loved the Polish exhibit.
Travellers, this air museum is extremely comprehensive. It will give a terrific sense of aviation history in all its iterations. There are exhibits on military aircraft, civilian aircraft’s, aviation history, mail carrier history, women in flight history, and the list goes in. The staff is very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about aviation history. It is heated and air conditioned so you can really spend time reading the plaques and looking at the aircraft. We were lucky enough to have one of the long-time museum employees take us on a tour of a hanger and it was fascinating. The information we received along the tour was tremendous. If you happen to be in Hartford this is definitely worth the stop. Check it out. We recommend. TLDR great aviation museum
